A Letter of Appreciation To All Photolemur Pioneers

A Letter of Appreciation To All Photolemur Pioneers

It’s been 10 days since the new Photolemur has been up and running in your Macs and PCs. We worked long and hard to create the best product possible. So hard, in fact, we ended up with a totally new product, a story that has already been told in a previous post.

Today, after we’ve all had some time to play with the new Photolemur, it’s time to share news and reflect on some of the feedback we’ve received.

One of the more compelling issues this time around was the pricing model. Yes, we’ve decided to use subscription for the new Photolemur and yes, we hear your voices on the matter. Most of them supportive — thank you very much for that; some of them angry — boy, we definitely hear those ones :)

All of this feedback is the reason we have made an important decision, which is to provide a lifetime free subscription to those who have bought the original Photolemur. We could leave it at that, but we want to touch a little bit more on this issue.

First of all, the decision to use a subscription program was not made lightly, we deliberated on it for quite a while. We have a very involved, far-reaching vision of what Photolemur is to become in the future. We really believe in our product, we’re committed for the long haul. So far we have achieved maybe 10% of what we have in mind for Photolemur, and these upcoming years will be dedicated to learning, building, developing and implementing the next 90%. So using a subscription model is vital to Photolemur’s continued quality development.

Still, no matter how important our product is to us, our users are always our priority. Especially our very first users, the ones who believed in us, saw the potential and gave both their moral and material support to these endeavors. No matter how many improvements we make to the new Photolemur, and how long we continue supporting the initial version, if our community doesn’t feel appreciated, we’ve failed. This is the place where the decision is coming from to provide free lifetime subscriptions to our original Photolemur subscribers.

We’re done with the lyrics — now for the prose: If you already have an account with the new Photolemur and you bought the old one on our site, congrats, you already have your lifetime subscription. If you don’t have a new account yet, but want your lifetime subscription, here’s what you need to do:
